Our philosophy at N.E.W Outfitters is driven by our passion for the
outdoors and hunting. It is the time spent with sons, daughters,
nephews...friends that create memories that last forever. It is that
passion that has allowed us to enhance an already phenomenal 600 acre
tract of land that produces monster whitetails. It is our mission at
NEW outfitters to share that passion with you to create a hunting
experience that will be forever etched in your memories.
Every deer hunter has his own definition of a "real trophy."
Your son's or daughter's trophy might be that first doe that they shoot.
Someone that
has never had the opportunity to harvest
anything except a spike buck may be excited about some of the animals
that we want culled. The photo to the left shows some of the bucks
that we have removed from the herd to prevent them from breeding.
The next photo on the left shows the quality that our deer are reaching
at only 2 1/2 years old. We harvested these before we realized
that we were the home of deer two and three generations older.
Today, our goal is to pass on these bucks and watch them develop into 3
1/2 and 4 1/2 year old wallhangers.
The
reason that we want to do that is best illustrated by the next
three pictures. The first is Tony Edwards' bow kill in the
late season (December) 2001.
The next picture is Ray
Edwards' bow kill in the pre-rut (October) 2002. It scored 142
1/8.
The
third is Tony Edwards' 2003 rifle kill that scored 136 1/4.
So, what is our philosophy (policy)? We want you to shoot does,
irregular (cullable) bucks, and world class trophies. Do we impose
a penalty for shooting a button buck or a 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer?
Not at this time. For two reasons. First is that one of
those animals may be your personal trophy. The second is that we
have way too many deer of all classes on our property and we need to
reduce the herd.
