FOOD PLOTS: 

     This year, we had to put more effort than ever into our food plots. Mother Nature was not kind this growing season.  Some of the areas came up beautifully with the original plantings, while other plots needed to be reworked in August.  However, by the time hunting season rolled around, we had plenty of forage to attract and hold the deer and turkey.We used our all of our usual products this season and added a few new ones.  We added Biologic and Green Patch Plus, and included some oats and some chicory to help the turkey population.

NEW FOOD PLOTS: 

     Every year we are adding new locations on the property.  This allows us to accommodate more hunters and to better use the wind to our advantage.  Our newest plots have the potential to become our best plots.  We have worked our way into the heart of our heaviest swamp area and cleared some good size ridges.The first year crops from these plantings were very impressive, and so were the numbers of deer we saw while hunting them.

SUPPLEMENTS: 

     2005 marked the third year that we have been using mineral supplements to improve our rack sizes.  If any of the companies that produce these products need testimonies as to whether or not they work...WE BELIEVE.  There is no doubt that we have seen a very noticeable increase in the mass of all our racks.  So much so, that it is making it difficult to pass on some of the 1.5 and 2.5 year old bucks because their racks are so impressive.
